Where Quality, Inspiration and Design Come Together!
I began quilting in 1981. I was introduced to the art by learning the fine art of hand pieces and cutting individual scraps. I was intrigued immediately as the colors and patterns began to create subtle designs and create stories of their own. I was hooked!
As time went on and the new quilting methods and machines progressed, I was swept along, learning quick piecing techniques and rotary cutting skills which produce more articulate and precise results.
I have competed in several quilt shows and have placed Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, Champion, Best of Show and People's Choice. The awards and ribbons are satisfying but my joy comes from creating one-of-a-kind quilts by choosing just the right fabrics and incorporating coordinating blocks. I favor traditional blocks and my finished quilts are a testament to my devotion to the lost art of time-honored designs. I AM NOT a published pattern girl, and create all my quilts blending fabrics and block designs along the way for a truly original, one-of-a-kind finished product!
I have a passion for finishing, refurbishing and repairing old, vintage and heirloom quilts. I believe the hours spent finishing or refurbishing older quilts are worth the commitment and dedication. Many times these older "ladies" were never finished, finished badly, have fallen into disrepair, were loved until they are thread bare or were lost treasures. My goal with each and every project is to recreate or bring back the quilt to it's prior or envisioned glory while capturing the history associated with the making.
-I love designing, creating and completing custom quilts. I can help you envision and create a quilt limited only by your dreams and imagination.
-Do you have a wedding, baby shower or special occasion coming up and need the perfect gift? I can create a one-of-a-kind quilt that will be remembered and passed down for generations.
-Perhaps you found a stack of quilt squares Grandma made after her passing? I can help you incorporate those blocks into an heirloom that will last a life time.
-Or you started a quilt long ago and never quite had the time to finish. I can turn that UFO (unfinished object) into a quilt to be cherished for decades.
Creating your quilt takes time, careful planning and expertise. I understand the love and care that went into every stitch. I also know how important your quilt top is to you and I can help you finish it with the same and love and devotion you put into it. As a longarm quilter, I have helped hundreds finish their beautiful quilts including baby, heirloom, appliques, wall hangings, art or lap quilts and many more. Every quilt top is different and shows the personality of the quilter which is what makes quilting fun!
